Anti Social Behaviour Officer

Ipswich Borough Council operates a range of services for residents, organisations and visitors to Ipswich, from cultural and community activities to education and environmental services and everyday facilities like car parking and refuse collections.

Our organisation is constantly growing and developing to meet the needs of Ipswich and its residents. To help us on this journey, we are looking to recruit an additional Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) Officer to join the Anti-Social Behaviour Team.

This role will involve conducting investigative groundwork and managing cases through to resolution. You will lead on cases, working closely with colleagues to support victims and witnesses of anti-social behaviour. The role requires someone with the ability to build strong relationships with the Police and partner agencies to provide joined up multi agency responses, bringing cases to a successful conclusion.

Tackling ASB can be challenging and is of a confidential nature. The role requires someone with an enthusiastic and professional attitude who can assist with developing preventative interventions for tackling anti-social behaviour.

This role is specifically community related and focuses on the tackling of ASB that occurs in both residential areas and hot spot locations within the wider community.

You will have a problem-solving approach to addressing ASB, a good understanding of the legislation surrounding ASB, experience of undertaking investigations and knowledge of the ASB tools and powers available.

You will have strong interpersonal skills, proven partnership working skills and an ability to deal with difficult situations. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, chair partnership meetings, manage their own workload and adhere to strict working deadlines.

The most important part of this role is having pride in your work together with a positive attitude, proactive approach and the confidence to support a diverse range of people. You will be able to balance your passion and commitment with good organisational skills, maintaining a flexible approach and have the ability to comply with all relevant policies and procedures.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

DBS clearance is required for this role.
