Business Administrator Apprentice (Transformation)

Full-time Position

As an apprentice you will become an important part of the Council’s work. You will, over time, work with a variety of teams to support a diverse range of projects, providing solutions to a range of people and issues.
You will be expected to undertake a range of business administrator related tasks and projects to support the Business Improvement operational area, whilst working towards your Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification.

Job Description

As an apprentice you will become an important part of the Council’s work. You will, over time, work with a variety of teams to support a diverse range of projects, providing solutions to a range of people and issues.

You will be expected to undertake a range of business administrator related tasks and projects to support the Business Improvement operational area, whilst working towards your Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification.

You will work in a hybrid environment of home and office working using the Council’s systems and equipment and will be required to work in line with our organisational procedures and under the required level of supervision appropriate to the role.

Reporting directly to the Business Improvement Manager and sitting within the Business Improvement Unit you will be part of a service that provides support to the Corporate Management Team.

You will develop skills in a wide range of areas, such as the principles of project management, or applying techniques to analyse data to improve our performance. You will gain insight into risk management and report writing and understand what is required to provide Executive Assistant services to Directors within the organisation.

You will need to have 3 GCSEs Grade A*- C or Grade 4 to 9 including English and Maths.

The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both orally and in writing, and to organise your own workload and meet deadlines is an absolute must.

You will be a Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and will not shy away from taking responsibility for your own work and accept feedback in a positive way.

Commitment to completing the apprenticeship is critical to being a successful candidate.

Hours of work are 9 – 5pm, Monday to Friday – 37 per week.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 18 months.
