We are looking for a part time Business Support Officer to join our busy Planning & Development Business Support Team.

Day to day

The successful applicant will join the team providing administration support to our Building Control Surveyors as well as being the first point of contact for the residents of Ipswich requesting Building Control Services.  Main duties include liaising with customers by telephone and email, creation and interrogation of electronic records, scanning, indexing, and issuing certificates. Additionally, there is responsibility for booking inspections, processing payments, raising invoices and other general office duties. We have adopted a hybrid working solution involving a mix of home and office working.  Working either Monday – Wednesday or Monday, Tuesday, Friday (to be discussed at interview).

About you

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Experience in a customer facing role with good communication skills.
  • A team player with a flexible customer focussed work attitude.
  • Proven IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and work on own initiative.
