
Business Support Officer
Part-time Position
Business Support Officers are an essential part of the Business Support Unit, which provides services in the Housing sector.
Job Description
We are looking for a proactive individual who can take an innovative approach to problem solving and provide a high-quality service to the departments the Business Support Unit serves. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate good administrative skills.
Day to day
The post requires you to work in a busy and varied position. You will be dealing with the signing up of new tenants to council properties, Notice to Quits from existing tenants, Right to Buy applications and liaising closely with the Tenancy Services team and Housing Officers to ensure an excellent service is provided. You will also be dealing with environmental issues raised to the council and signposting them accordingly, which will also include regular reporting. You will be required to be part of a rota to ensure there is sufficient coverage for the service, but this does not extend beyond standard office hours.
Hybrid working is an option for this position
About you
You will require Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent skills. You will be competent in all Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Word and Excel. Knowledge of M3, Abritas and IHMS would be advantageous, but training will be provided. You will have the ability to work confidently to tight deadlines, both alone and as part of the team. Experience in similar roles would be an advantage, but not essential.

1 x Part-time, Permanent, 32 Hours per week
1 x Full-time, 1 Year fixed term, 37 Hours per week
The selection process will be an interview. Interviews will be held the week commencing Monday 16th January 2023.
