Ipswich Borough Council has declared a Climate Emergency and is working towards becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
We are looking for an enthusiastic programme manager who can provide project management and leadership across the council on the borough’s response to the climate emergency, turning vision into practical action that changes how the council works, and which also inspires residents and partners to do the same.
Day to day
You will be working across all Directorates and Services, with colleagues across the council and the other Suffolk Local Authorities to ensure that every part of our business is contributing to our shared ambition to be carbon neutral.
Researching, designing and developing new and revised climate change policies, strategies, processes and targets within the Council and with a range of partners will be an important part of your role. You will need to demonstrate how you will take the lead ensuring that the programme and associated project objectives and activities are achieved in a timely, cost-efficient, and effective manner, through effective programme management.
About you
You will be an experienced Programme Manager with a proven track record of successful project or programme management and through your keen interest in addressing climate change will be instrumental in the ongoing development and delivery of the council’s climate change strategy.
