Full-time Position
Taking a leading role in energy management and awareness, contributing to the Council’s response to Climate Change by reducing the Council’s impact on the environment through carbon reduction, environmental compliance and reducing consumption of natural resources.
Job Description
We are looking for a person take a leading role in energy management and awareness, contributing to the Council’s response to Climate Change by reducing the Council’s impact on the environment through carbon reduction, environmental compliance and reducing consumption of natural resources.
Day to day
Reporting to the Operations Manager of Major Capital Schemes.
To work with a wide range of stakeholders, partnerships and other public, private and voluntary sector organisations.
To provide expert technical advice, on a range of climate change and building energy/environmental sustainability engineering projects (including energy conservation).
Working from both home and the Council’s head office, within a close team of building professionals, this job links across multiple disciplines, areas and operational buildings. Working pattern is variable with every day being different with new challenges and projects being worked upon at any given time.
About you
This job will be at the forefront of reducing the Council’s carbon emissions and therefore a passion for protecting the planet and our futures is a must, alongside project management skills, good communication abilities and a desire to make a difference.
Engineering or procurement background would be helpful.
Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
A full UK driving license is required for this post.
