Ipswich Borough Council runs a comprehensive and exciting sports and fitness programme that is focussed on improving the lives of local people through a wide range of sports and activities. In order to run an innovative and exciting programme we need talented and qualified coaches and class instructors who thrive on providing energetic and educational coached activities to members of the public.

Ipswich Borough Council also delivers a large-scale swimming lesson programme across two swimming pools, delivering to over 1,000 children, young people and adults a week. In order to run an innovative and exciting programme we need talented and qualified swimming teachers who thrive on providing energetic and exciting swimming lessons to members of the public.

You will be required to work variable hours according to the operational need of the business, sometimes at short notice, which will include weekend and bank holidays.

In particular, we are looking for instructors and teachers that can deliver:

Rugby

Basketball

Multi-Sport

Gymnastics

Trampolining

Swimming

Football

Athletics

Applicants will be required to hold the relevant governing body approved qualification, be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and have coaching experience.

Day to day

Coaches will be welcome to deliver a range of activities with flexible hours to suit and depending on the demands of the programme. You will be responsible for delivering those activities in a safe and enjoyable environment.

The selection process will be an interview. Interviews will be held on 6th December 2023.
