An exciting opportunity has become available to become an invaluable part of a new team within Sport and Leisure. The successful candidate will be crucial in delivering against an ambitious Health and Wellbeing Strategy across Ipswich.

Your main duties will include:
- Provide administrative support to the Sport and Leisure team including project support, internal and external communications, social media campaigns, marketing of physical activity and health and wellbeing campaigns and resident and community engagement activities.
- Identify gaps and opportunities that will support and engage Ipswich’s most inactive groups into physical activity. You will be supported to deliver your ideas, set up and deliver sport and physical activity initiatives
- Contribute to the running of day to day activities across sports centres, swimming pools and local community facilities
- Support with connecting residents to sport and physical activities, community groups and information that will help them to be more active. You might do this through telephone or email enquiries or through community engagement activities.

On top of this, as an apprentice you will take part in the Council’s Apprentice Development Programme, aimed at helping you develop a range of transferable skills including time management, problem solving and decision making. Hours of work are 37 per week and this role is offered on a fixed term basis.
