An exciting opportunity is available to join Community Support within Ipswich Borough Council. We are looking for a dedicated Community Support Officer to support the development and administration for our Community Support service area which includes the Community Engagement, Community Safety and Anti-social Behaviour teams.
The successful candidate will support the service area to facilitate partnership meetings, deliver projects and campaigns, assess feedback and funding applications, research and collate data and will undertake minutes at meetings. As part of this diverse role, you will work closely with community and voluntary groups, key stakeholders and councillors. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to support with Area Committees and community events.

You will have excellent communications skills, be highly organised and self-motivated to support on a diverse range of activities across the Community Support service area.You will have the ability to plan, prioritise and organise your time to ensure deadlines and targets are met. Your flexible approach to work with a willingness to adapt as circumstances change is essential for this role. The ability to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential to the success of this role, together with your knowledge of using IT systems such as MS Word, Excel and Teams.

Hours of work are 37 per week, typically worked during office hours Monday-Friday. There will be the requirement to occasionally work outside these hours on evenings and weekends. The post holder will be expected to undertake Area Committees which fall on Wednesday and Thursday evenings throughout the year.
This is a hybrid working role, where the post holder will be expected to work two days within Grafton House. The agreed office days at present is Wednesday/Thursday due to area committees.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
