Corporate Fraud Investigation Officer

Full-time Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded and successful Corporate Fraud team at Ipswich Borough Council.

Job Description

As a Corporate Fraud Investigation Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking dedicated fraud prevention, detection and investigation activities within Ipswich Borough Council, or other partnership authorities.

Day to day

You will be conducting comprehensive investigations into suspected and potential fraud cases in accordance with best practice and all applicable legislation. This will involve you working closely with colleagues across the Council as well as other investigative agencies.

You will also perform a range of due diligence activities, supporting service areas across the Council. This will require you to effectively manage your own workload whilst working to tight deadlines.

Whilst we support agile working arrangements your duties will require you to be out and about in the Borough undertaking enquiries as part of your investigative and due diligence activities.

About you

You will have a recognised Counter Fraud qualification, e.g., Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or Professionalism in Security (PINS) or at least three years’ experience working in a counter fraud or similar investigative environment.

You must possess thorough technical knowledge of criminal law and procedure, especially PACE, RIPA, CPIA and demonstrate practical application.

You will have the ability to deal with sensitive issues with a high level of integrity, tact and diplomacy and be able to work under pressure.

A full UK driving licence and a DBS check are required for these posts.
