As a Corporate Fraud Investigator, you will be responsible for undertaking dedicated fraud prevention, detection and investigation activities within Ipswich Borough Council, or other partnership authorities.

As a Corporate Fraud Investigator, you will be responsible for undertaking dedicated fraud prevention, detection and investigation activities within Ipswich Borough Council, or other partnership authorities.
Day to Day
You will be conducting comprehensive investigations into suspected fraud cases in accordance with best practice and all applicable legislation. This will involve you working closely with colleagues across the Council as well as other agencies. You will also develop and undertake pro-active initiatives for the prevention and detection of fraudulent activity, including providing advice to colleagues across the Council.
Whilst the Council offers hybrid working, your duties will require you to be out and about in the Borough undertaking enquiries as part of your investigative activities.
About You
You will have a recognised counter fraud qualification e.g., Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or Professionalism in Security (PINS) or at least three years’ experience working in a counter fraud or similar investigative environment.
You must possess through technical knowledge of criminal law and procedure, especially PACE, RIPA, CPIA and demonstrate practical application. You will have the ability to deal with sensitive issues with a high level of integrity, tact and diplomacy and be able to work under pressure.
The working hours for this post are 19.5 per week, and DBS clearance is required.

The selection process will be psychometric testing followed by interview. Interviews will be held on 10th May 2023.
The assessment interview process will be carried out virtually using Microsoft Teams.
