Director of Strategy & Change

 As our Director of Strategy & Change you will be at the heart of our change story. Designing and delivering the Council’s strategic intent, this is your opportunity to envision and lead organisation-wide change. You will develop new approaches to service delivery and lead the programmes that turn our strategies and plans into improved services and outcomes for our residents. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the transformation, human resources, ICT, and communications services will all be part of your portfolio.

As Director of Strategy & Change and reporting to the Chief Executive, you will provide corporate leadership and management of the council as part of the senior leadership team, particularly as they relate to whole council strategy, change and transformation programmes.

You’ll be the lead change maker in the council and hold strategic responsibility for our corporate plan, the case for change and our operating model. Your leadership role will be to develop a high performing strategic function at the heart of the council that combines strategy development, transformation, ICT, HR, corporate communications, and the council’s strategic performance management framework.

Providing clear advice and support to the Leader, Chief Executive and Members, you’ll ensure consistency and clarity of purpose to support the delivery of the council’s strategic intent. Working strategically across the organisation you’ll deliver our Corporate Plan and the Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) as well as supporting the identification of new ways of working to deliver efficiencies, increased productivity and improved service delivery.
