Job Description

Ipswich Borough Council are looking to recruit a Facilities and Market Assistant to support the running of the Ipswich Market and Corn Exchange.

The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated with good interpersonal and customer skills to engage with traders and members of the public.

Day to day

The position involves a variety of duties including set up and breakdowns of venues and equipment, ensuring safe working practice, monitoring stock levels as well as promoting and maintain good relations with stakeholders, contractors, tenants, and market traders.

About you

The post requires the successful applicant to hold a current, full, and clean driving license and be able to undertake manual handling tasks.

The post holder will be expected to work weekends with early starts and have a level of flexibility on working hours.

Annualised Hours (annualised hours equivalent to 21.46 hours per week)

5% of hours will incur enhanced rate of pay for unsocial hours between 10pm and 6am at time and 1/3.
