We currently have a vacancy for the post of Operative Gardener to join our Parks and Cemeteries Team for a fixed term period of 6 months.

This post will be working across our parks and open spaces, delivering works across Ipswich for internal and external customers.

You will assist with parks and cemeteries horticultural maintenance and improvement operations to achieve high quality standards throughout all areas maintained and with due regard to relevant statutory obligations e.g. Health & Safety, environmental protection, and biodiversity.

If successful, you will join a team of highly skilled and dedicated individuals providing a quality parks and cemeteries service to the residents of Ipswich.

You may be required to work at various locations and operate from one of a number of satellite bases. The work will vary depending on service requirements and could involve grounds maintenance, landscaping, sports field maintenance, plus other land-based tasks.   

You must have good all-round numeracy and literacy skills and be willing to work outside in all weathers.

Appropriate training will be provided where required.

A category B driving licence is required for this post.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
