Job Description
Ipswich Borough Council’s Park Patrol Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety of visitors and upkeep of all parks & open spaces around Ipswich seven days a week.
Day to day
Our work is not only limited to parks, it also extends to allotments, cemeteries, play areas and recreation grounds. Whether it be deterring antisocial behaviour, locking and unlocking parks, litter picking, dealing with public enquires, working alongside other departments or carrying out play area inspections; no two days working on park patrol are the same.
We are operational seven days a week, 365 days a year, plus with the lighter evenings our parks are open longer to ensure everyone has access to outside space.
There is a need to recruit additional resource, who are looking for some flexibility with their working pattern, with availability for alternate weekend shifts and some availability in the evening during weekdays between April and October.
About you
If you are someone who likes working outside, enjoys parks and open spaces and has a full UK driving licence, we would welcome your application.
You will be quick thinking and able to use your own initiative. You will be physically capable of carrying out foot patrols over long distances and you will possess a sound knowledge of using a smart phone.
