It is an exciting period of growth for the Major Capital Schemes team at Ipswich Borough Council, seeing a wide-ranging list of projects being brought forward for completion.

Day to day

The programme manager positions will be responsible for overseeing management and delivery of different projects across Ipswich. The projects range from refurbishments of listed buildings to new builds and a wide range of budget levels. The depth and type of projects is extremely rare to be involved in at the same time and could include building modular offices, refurbishment of grade 2 listed buildings, new build doctors surgeries, public realm work and or commercial developments.

About you

Candidates should be proficient in managing teams of consultants, main contractors, and liaison with client teams. Whilst having the ability to maintain the project programme.

Normal office hours are required for the role as are regular site visits and meetings with the project team both remotely and on site with the occasional evening meeting with Councillors and client teams.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
