Ipswich Borough Council is delighted to be recruiting a Senior Estates Surveyor for a permanent opportunity that has arisen in their property team. This varied and exciting role will focus on Ipswich Borough Council’s diverse and varied property portfolio containing some 500 plus assets with a value of £110m and a rental income of £3.3m per year.
Ipswich is one of England’s fastest growing regional centres. It is an exciting time to be joining Ipswich Borough Council. The Borough has a diverse portfolio which includes the usual property types such as Offices, Industrial and Retail assets, but also some unique assets such as Churches, Marinas, Farmland and a Football Ground. The Borough has recently secured £25 million of grant funding by way of the Towns Fund and there are several exciting projects that you will be involved with.
Day to day
As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you will be working closely with the Head of Property and assist in the management of the corporate estate, including the overseeing of third-party valuations. You will be providing advice on lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews as well as supporting with acquisitions and disposals. The successful candidate may also support with providing valuation advice on Housing matters such as Residential Buy Backs.
About you
You will be a commercially minded and ambitious property professional with an eye for detail. You’ll be adaptable in your approach and will have the ability to work closely with various internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be a team player and able to work with others to progress and develop the Borough’s Property Portfolio. As the preferred candidate you will have experience of commercial property management, be educated to degree level or equivalent and will hold current RICS membership and registered valuer status.
This role will enable the successful candidate to make a real and long-lasting difference to the town of Ipswich and shine in a small, ambitious, high performing team.
