Job Description

The position is located at Ipswich Borough Councils Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate site.

Day to day

You will be part of a small team responsible for supplying a wide and various selection of materials and products, the stores team handles in excess of 2000 items for supply to all Council departments. The team also undertakes a small in house plant “hire shop” and waste recycling disposal operation. You will be responsible for Ordering, Receipting, Issuing, Checking and organising goods within the warehouse. You will assist in preparation of the stores for on-site efficiency ensuring store space is utilised efficiently. You will also assist with inventory management / stock take and other general warehouse duties as required.

About you

Basic computer skills in word, outlook and excel would be an advantage as the department uses a computerised ordering and issuing system which involves accurate record keeping.

A valid driving license would be essential as a “just in time” delivery system is carried out and a telescopic forklift operates for deliveries.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
