Trainee Bus Drivers

Job Description

We are looking for friendly, caring and confident people who are passionate about customer service to join our amazing team of bus drivers in and around Ipswich.

All you need is a can-do, customer-focused attitude and a clean car licence. We provide the training you need to help you get your bus licence, and your professional development will continue throughout your employment.

We also welcome applications from existing licence holders.

We offer some of the leading rates of pay in the area– after successfully training drivers you will join either our 4-day or 5-day rota where you will be paid an hourly rate of £13.50 and guaranteed a minimum of 39 hours of work every week.

During your training period, the pay is around £429 per week (based on a 39-hour week) rising to a basic £527+ per week when you move onto one of the town rotas.

As this is your basic pay, this is the absolute minimum you will be paid, and you will normally be paid more based on the total rota line hours.

Overtime is often available if you want to earn more!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: Basic £27,400.00 to £30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 39 hours per week
• 8 hour shift based on 5-day working or 10 hours based on 4-day working
• Holidays
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ipswich: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Driving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Car Driving Licence (required)

Work Location:

Duties start at either our Constantine Road site (parking available) or the Tower Ramparts Bus Station.
