An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the largest Sports and Fitness Programmes in the region at Ipswich Borough Council’s Sport and Leisure Team.

Ipswich Fit run a comprehensive Sport, Fitness and Health Programme that is focused on improving the lives of local people. We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Coach with experience of delivering Exercise on Referral sessions such as Strength and Balance (previously known as Falls Prevention), Chair based exercise classes, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Parkinsons Sessions.

In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of Exercise on Referral classes and helping customers to be more active in a safe and customer focused environment. Day-to-day tasks include dealing with referral applications, responding to customer enquiries, creation of class programme and session/class delivery.  You will also be expected to assist with the set-up and set-down of activity equipment and occasional cleaning duties.

About you

We are looking for customer focused individuals who enjoy working with people, are passionate about health and fitness and hold a Level 2 Gym Instructing Qualification.

You should be hardworking, enthusiastic and with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people of all ages.

Previous experience of delivering Exercise on Referral Classes is essential.

The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

DBS clearance is required for this role.
