Business Support Accountant

The team is responsible for providing a full accounting and business partnering service for specific Council services and related organisational/trading units as well as assisting in the production of the Statement of Accounts, completing government returns and managing the Council’s Financial system.

We have an exciting opportunity within the Management Accounting Team of our busy Finance Section for a Business Support Accountant.

The team is responsible for providing a full accounting and business partnering service for specific Council services and related organisational/trading units as well as assisting in the production of the Statement of Accounts, completing government returns and managing the Council’s Financial system.

The post holder would ideally hold a CCAB/CIMA qualification, so this role is suitable for anyone who is part way through their qualification or who wishes to progress from an AAT or similar qualification.

You will also need to have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of financial or management accounts.

It is essential that the candidate is highly numerate and has experience in the use of excel, word or similar applications. They will need to demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative & flexibility and be able to work alone or as a part of a team and can also cope with a varied workload and unexpected demands.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday. Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2027

This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 1 days per week working in the office).
