Job Description

Ipswich Borough Council runs a comprehensive and exciting sports and fitness programme that is focussed on improving the lives of local people through a wide range of sports and fitness activities. This includes a comprehensive fitness programme, a junior and adult sports activity programmes, a health referral programme working with people that have long term health conditions and one of the largest holiday programmes in Suffolk. To run an innovative and exciting programme we need talented and qualified sports coaches and fitness instructors and health condition specialists who thrive on providing energetic and educational coached and led activities to members of the public.

You will be required to work variable hours according to the operational need of the business, sometimes at short notice, and could include weekend and bank holidays.

We are looking for instructors and coaches that can deliver any of the following, in particular:

Spinning / Indoor cycling

Zumba

Exercise to Music qualified

Pilates

Yoga

Tai Chi

Level 3 Exercise Referral qualified

Level 4 Pulmonary qualified

Otago Exercise Programme trained

Pre-natal and post-natal activities

Les Mills

Football

Various sports

Applicants will be required to hold the relevant governing body approved qualification, be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and have coaching experience.

Day to day

Coaches will be welcome to deliver a range of activities with flexible hours to suit and depending on the demands of the programme. You will be responsible for delivering those activities in a safe and enjoyable environment.

About you

You will be expected to be suitably qualified to deliver the activities applied for and available to do the classes. We are looking for people who work well as part of a team, have a can-do attitude and can deliver great sessions that people want to return to.

The selection process will include a formal interview and practical assessment, depending on the activity you deliver.
