Team Leader Financial Operations

This is a key leadership role within the Finance Team, responsible for overseeing the Council’s treasury management operations and leading core transactional finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Insurance.

We are looking for an Interim Team Leader: Financial Operations, on a fixed‑term contract until 30 April 2027, to lead and develop our multi‑functional finance teams and support the delivery of high‑quality, customer‑focused services.

This is a key leadership role within the Finance Team, responsible for overseeing the Council’s treasury management operations and leading core transactional finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Insurance.

You will provide day‑to‑day leadership, ensuring work is well‑planned, high quality and compliant with required standards. You’ll support staff through regular 1‑2‑1s, coaching and clear expectations, helping maintain a positive performance culture.

You will also contribute to service planning, reporting, process improvements and the development of financial controls, playing a key role in shaping the future of our Financial Operations service.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis to 30th April 2027.

This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 1 day per week working in the office).
